When ‘The Call’ came from Carina UK, I can honestly say I was overwhelmed with such a rush of emotions that, for once in my life, I was at a loss for words. I felt excitement mixed with a fear of the unknown and, if you can believe it, relief! Relief because all my hard work had paid off and the many tears shed over the years had become worthwhile.
I started writing seriously in 2010 and I’ve had a rollercoaster of a journey to this point but as any writer will know, once you start this writing game it becomes an addiction; it’s your life. So ‘The Call’ – the day a publisher decides you’ve got something they like and they actually ring you – became a sort of dream that I replayed over and over in my mind.
When I was then told I was being offered two two-book contracts, I really was rendered speechless! My lovely editor explained what she saw in my books, both my psychological suspense and women’s fiction, and I realised what a great publishing house I’m joining and what an amazing thing it is to have an editor who just gets you, gets your work, who you know is really on your side.
I’m thrilled to have been given the opportunity to share my stories with readers all over the world.
I hope you enjoy my novels as they appear and keep in touch. You can find me at @writercharlie on Twitter.
